POLICE FILTER | flagged to [livejournal.com profile] whatsapersia and his tac team | unhackable
I need a status update on the apprehension of Harold Saxon. Mamoru, Ken, Ray-- ...Chris? C'mon guys, I trust you to get the job done, but I need details. What's your 20?

If we can use it to make him an accomplice, it might be enough to get him to turn on his allies. Not that it'll do any good without a legal system to make him answer to.

Ahh, very smart. Do you think that he would? He really seems quite unhinged. It's my understanding that the mentally disturbed rarely respond in a logical manner.

That will definitely a challenge. Not only might he not respond well to questioning, but his mental state could make it very difficult for us to place him at the scene - whatever scene that is - of the murder or murders. If we were somehow successful in getting him lucid enough to lead us there, his sanity during the murders is another point entirely.

This might not be a curse case, but it doesn't seem all that clean cut regardless.

There's a high probability he could get away with everything with an insanity plead in any recognized courts even if we were able to prove he's guilty. But with the legal system being nonexistent here, I must admit I'm uncertain as to how we're supposed to proceed in the event he is found responsible for these deeds.

You're surprisingly familiar with the legal process, Doctor. Are you holding out on me?

Detective Beckett, I've been partners with an FBI agent back in Washington D.C. for over four years. It's our job to put murderers behind bars - I ID the victim and the cause of death, he investigates and arrests the bad guy. It's also in my job description at the Jeffersonian Institute to serve as an expert witness on some of the cases we get. So, yes, I'm aware of the typical legal proceedings. And what I don't know, I can learn. I'm quite smart.

[ooc: I'm getting a kick out of their interaction. They're so similar, although they're entirely different. xD]

Wow. [okay, she's very sure of herself, which is good but-- wow.] That's pretty impressive, I have to say. Good to know we have the experience at our disposal.

You're open to expanding your knowledge to suit this environment, then? I'd be lying if I said it's been easy to adapt to. It would help tremendously if you could tailor your expertise to the more specialized citizens.

[ooc: Holy crap, right? It's like, bizarre and has major potential for awesome, hopefully some headbutting later. They'll have to apologize to Angela ;)]

Thank you. [She may sound a bit smug there, because she is. A little, at least.]

I'm willing to do what I can for the benefit of the community, of course. I don't have as much to occupy myself with professionally since bodies do not decompose here, so I'm quite prepared to explore other avenues on the side. It will doubtless be challenging, yes, but I do enjoy challenges.

[ooc: I don't think we can avoid the headbutting, lol. Which is a part of the awesome, in my opinion! Oh, poor, poor Angela. xD]

You'll find a lot in the library - so long as you aren't looking specifically for anything, apparently that's another quirk of the City. But I've been in and out since I got here, and if you browse you might come across some interesting texts.

[ooc: I'm all for professional headbutting, TBH. It's one of the best parts of shows with cops and all that, when things get heated. Hahah, I have a feeling Angela would bap them both...]
