I know that the police often catch flak for being useless or pointless, and I can't offer glamour or glory, but we're better set up now to take in recruits. If you're interested, please drop us your name along with a listing of your qualifications, or any other skills that might be useful to us. We'll put you through an interview, whatever background check we can manage and depending on your experience, some form and length of training.

Regardless of who, it's about freaking time. Surveillance or not, I'm definitely being followed. Planning to take an alternate route, and won't chance going back to the apartment right away. Maybe swing by the firing range, pick up groceries; mix up the routine a little. Need to flush them out. There are no coincidences.

That was my reasoning, but I'm glad you share it. Things didn't tend to fall that way back home.

It's not a problem. It's stabilized and I can still use my abilities, just not to hurt people. As far as I'm concerned, it's a good thing. It won't let me slip. But it does make me far less useful in a fight, which is why I was letting you know.

Understood. If I can be honest with you though, I think whatever your problem is? Won't be fixed by being incapable of using your powers. It's the choice that counts, trust me.

I've heard that from someone else, too. But to be honest, me trying to make my own choices in life is what started causing these problems in the first place. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's true.

Maybe this is coming up because I don't trust myself to have that choice yet.

I can respect that. But maybe you just don't give yourself enough credit. What I've read on you and what you've shown me...I think you have a good shot at turning it around. And as long as you want it, I'll give you the opportunity to keep trying.
