"Yeah!" She yelled, signaling the open door.

"Chief Beckett? Rick Castle told me about you. I'm new and I'd like to join the police force here. I'm Angua." Perfect-sounding delivery. Quick, informative, and as non-suspicious as she could muster.

"Angua, nice to have you in. Have a seat, we'll talk over what you bring to the table." As if Beckett had much of a choice. The force was smaller than she could risk saying no to new recruits for.
[ooc: You should go join the police community! There's a big honkin new guide that you can guinea pig test out for us! Join up, intro and let everyone know what you're hoping to get Angua doing or if you're unsure, list out her skills and ask for some input :3]

"Was that a standard police department? Just so I know what kind of experience you have; there are a good amount of experienced cops and other people on the force already. Most of the ones who join as rookies have supernatural or otherwise specialized knowledge."
no subject
"Er, well. There is one more thing, actually."
[OoC: omg, I am SO so so sorry. I'll completely understand if you wanna drop this thread.]

Beckett doesn't continue, just nods to give Angua time to say whatever crazy thing she's done. Murderers, guys with claws, guys that can fly, guys from the 70s; what doesn't she have? More women will be nice, at least.
[ooc: That's totally fine, I'm a slowtagger myself ^^. I would suggest that we bendy time and state that the interview occurs in November, just to keep things smooth, if that works for you? We can bendytime forever about when Angua contacted the cops and got in and everything, to make it simpler. And don't forget to check out those links and join up and intro and all that, everyone's super nice at the comm. We can work out better details there, answer q's, etc. :D]

[OoC: I approve of said timebending! That's perfect and yeah, I just joined [Unknown site tag], thanks!]

"A-- a werewolf." Well, that was a new one, at least. She wants to say something worthwhile, but in the end, Beckett just sighs, smiling. "I don't have the first idea of what that entails, I'm sorry."
Or what kinds of questions to ask, even.

On the other hand, she didn't seem to know what it was. So perhaps it was just that fact which kept her smiling.
Well, best to start with the basics, she supposed.
"It means that I can turn into a wolf when I choose to." Which was accurate, and described what a werewolf was perfectly well, minus that bit about it being really really hard to resist Changing during the full moon. Describing your race didn't mean you had to talk about what the rest of the Disc thought of you, or how your family makes it seem perfectly reasonable for them to hold those opinions* of werewolves.
*Those opinions sometimes being "torches and pitchforks".

"Okay. You're going to get some unfortunate regular human stupid-questions from me, I'm sorry. I just think it's best to know as much as I can, within reason." She purses her lips together, and sighs again. Beckett really hated having to ask these questions, but her precinct's safety comes first. "I don't want to make assumptions based on stories and crap that I've heard from home. That's gotten me into more trouble than anything, so. If you want to give me a rundown of how this works? I need to put your potential coworkers' safety before everything else. Especially here, especially with what they do."
And really, Beckett's not sure there's any diplomatic way to ask these questions, so maybe it's just best to own up to being ignorant and doing what she can to work with it. "I come from a world without magic, or super powers or-- hell, reanimation. I'm a total blank slate, so go ahead and hit me with all your info."
no subject
"Well, I can Change whenever I choose to. I usually try to avoid spending too much time as a wolf, if I can, but I am in control of myself when I am one. As far as the safety concerns of others, I've never had a problem back home." A pause, how to phrase this? "When the moon's full, I'll be disappearing. I don't attack anyone, mind you, just chickens. Other than that, I'm able to be a policeman both as a human and a wolf."
no subject
"Can I ask what drew you to become a police officer?" Now that the more superficial (in some ways) is out of the way, Beckett can get down to a real interview. She likes this part, learning about people and helping them assimilate into the family here.

"None of those others really seemed to suit me, or what I wanted do do. I wanted to protect people." It sounded corny, but the unsaid 'after what I've seen and done' hangs from her tongue, caught in the back of her teeth.
